AMSOL Gasoline Stabilizer

AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer

AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer keeps fuel from deteriorating during storage. Reduces the oxidation process and prevents varnish and gum build-up in gasoline. These contaminates can clog injectors, stick floats and cause poor engine startup. Allows easier start-ups.

Treat rate is one ounce with every 2.5 gallons of fuel. One bottle treats 40 gallons.

Product Code: AST

Gasoline: Use It or Lose It
“Modern gasolines,” according to automotive writer Bill Siuru, “are not what they used to be. They are now much more perishable with significantly reduced shelf life because gasolines are less stable today,” due to the addition to gasoline of oxygenating agents, such as MTBE (methyl tertiary-butyl ether) and ethanol. The agents attract moisture and oxidize readily, and both processes lead to the formation of noncombustible products that reduce octane and lead to deposit formation.

Engines stored with a partial fill of gasoline in the tanks and lines are more prone to damage, since they are subjected to the products of gasoline breakdown for extended periods.

Siuru recommends storing vehicles with full gas tanks to minimize the dead space, filled with oxygen and moisture, in the tank and to minimize the surface area of gasoline available to interact with the oxygen and moisture. He recommends adding a gasoline stabilizer to the tanks of store vehicles.

AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer keeps fuel from deteriorating during storage. AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer inhibits oxidation and prevents deposit formation. Treat rate: 1 oz. per 2.5 gallons of gasoline.
